my facebook has ads in the new feed and at the top it says deals daily? - Hannah - 11-09-2012 09:30 AM

Its only when I check my facebook from my home computer, so i am assuming this is some sort of computer virus? How can I get rid of this ASAP!

probably not a virus but spam. Click on the invisible x in the upper right corner of the post on your news feed. then click revoke publishing rights.. thus your problem is solved

Mine has this daily deals feed thing too and my wall and newsfeed has been swamped with advertising. I think it's a virus but I can't find any information about it. My friends don't all have it on theirs.

edit....I clicked on settings on the "Daily Deals Feed" bar at the top of the page which took me here http://www.dropdowndeals.com/Settings and clicked "off" for all the settings. I dont know if this solved the problem but it seems to be gone now.

I know many people get frustrated by some of the ads on Facebook, as well as other sites. Fortunately, there is a way to get rid of them. I haven't seen an ad on Facebook or any other site for months. Here's the steps for getting rid of the ads:

If you are already using Mozilla Firefox, skip to step 2.

1. Download and install Mozilla Firefox. It's a web browser similar to Internet Explorer, exce...pt it's much more secure than IE, its quicker, and its more stable. There are also many free extension to choose from to add features to it, including the one that's going to get rid of ads. You can get Firefox here: mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Once you start to install it, it will even import all your bookmarks and stuff from Internet Explorer, so you won't lose your stuff.

2. Once you've got it running, go to addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1…
Once you're there, click the big green button that says "Add to Firefox." It will download and add itself to Firefox, then you will have to restart Firefox.

3. Once Firefox restarts, it will give you a filter list to choose from. Choose the one called "EasyList (USA)". Ads should now be gone pretty much everywhere.
