what exactly are Facebook applications, i keep on getting requests from friends but i don't actually know what they are!
so does anyone have an explanation?!

Facebook Applications are programs created by 3rd parties (not facebook) that run on the facebook network.
Many of them are stupid, imho.

they are just fun things kind of like mini interactive games that you can participate in with other facebook users..all apps are not made by space book. it is made by a third party person, anyone can create these apps. some are okay but a lot are annoying.
