How to unblock apps.facebook.com? - AlexSandy - 11-09-2012 09:34 AM

Facebook is available, everything surrounding just Facebook, wall, news, messages, pictures on my account.

But when I try to start any of the applications on FB, those with apps.facebook.com I get that Chrome, IE, Safari, Firefox and all the rest of the browsers can not connect or find those applications, i.e. can not connect to apps.facebook.com.

To date none were able to answer me. Please help me.

On my other computer that is connected to the same wireless connection everything works just fine.

thank you

Check your hosts file in windows to see if apps.facebook.com is listed as a blocked site. If so, delete the entry. Also check with your antivirus software to see if it blocked apps.facebook.com.

To check your hosts file go to windows explorer (NOT Internet Explorer) and type in the following:
%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\

Next, right-click on the hosts file and click "open". A pop up window will ask you which program to use to open it. I normally choose notepad. Then using the search feature in notepad search for apps.facebook.com, and if it is there, delete the entry. Then click CTRL+S to save the file. Exit. If apps.facebook.com isn't listed, try searching for anything with the word facebook and delete any entries. If nothing about facebook is in the hosts file, check your antivirus software and see if it's blocking it instead.
