so when you get a friend request on facebook and you neither press ' accept' nor 'not now', and a notification pops up again, say a month later, does it mean the other person send the request again. or is facebook reminding you about the request?

Its reminding you about the request....if someone sent you a request they can't send it again unless you decline it
