How to do that? I mean we have a few friends in common, i don't want her to know i removed her,i want her to think i deleted my account but if we have friends in common they will still see me? Can i just hide my account for good?

If you block her, your account will disappear from fb to her completely without her knowing you deleted her it will just look like you no longer have an account. She will not be able to search for you or anything. There is a link on their page usually on the left side toward the bottom that says Block User, so there you go!

If you don't want her to know you deleted her you just need to block her. It's the only way. She won't see your profile on her account, but your mutual friends can tell her your account is still active, but only if she asks.

Instead of blocking her, You can always try changing your name and picture.
But that would be putting too much effort for hiding from an ex-girlfriend. . .
Delete your account. Go socialize in person.

If you want to make your account as deleted to her user account then you should block her. When you block her, besides making your account invisible to her user account, she also will automatically be removed from your friends.
