Why do Facebook Sponsored Ads feature products I have recently searched for in Google? - notmyrealnamecantthinkofanything - 11-09-2012 09:40 AM

I have made no mention of these items in Facebook. I was searching for a few things earlier today, and tonight, Sponsored ads for several of the things I was searching for showed up. How can I avoid this?

Ummm you can't really. They are likely tracked using the cookies or searches left behind. This is the price we all pay for using the Internet. All of your privacy is lost.

inaru816 is right about the cookies but you can get rid of them

in firefox > tools > privacy > click "remove individual cookies" > click Remove All Cookies

in internet explorer > tools > internet options > click delete cookies

if your really paranoid you can get rid of the flash cookies in firefox by downloading the betterprivacy add-on
