how to block someone of facebook without removing them from friends? - heyy its me - 11-09-2012 09:41 AM

i know a kid and he is a little different, he keeps asking me out and to a dance. i dont want to be rude and delete him from my facebook friend list because he is a nice guy, he just doesnt get the point that im not interested. is there a way to block him from sending me chat messages?

I don't think so, not with out unfriending him but you could just not answer him.

When you click on the chat thing on the bottom of the screen, there is a little button that says "Friend Lists". Put all the people you want to talk to in one list, and all the people you don't want to talk to in another list. When you pull up the chat window you have the option to appear online or offline to each list. If you hover over the little switch next to the name of the friend list, it will say either Go Online or Go Offline. I guess you could put that kid in one list and have him be the only member- otherwise you could make a list of all the people that annoy you. Either way. Smile

Unfortunately you cannot do that. When you block someone this person is automatically removed from your friends, but he won't be notified and he will see your account as if it was deleted.
