What do people mean when they say that they're "Open to Friendship?"? - Edwin Williams - 11-09-2012 10:02 AM

On Facebook, someone sent me an invite and when I read his profile, it says, "LAID BACK DUDE HERE OPEN TO FRIENDS... I"M IN A RELATIONSHIP, ALL IS WELL... WE LIVE TOGETHER AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF... BUT OPEN TO FRIENDS." That's the part that terrifies me very much, and I think (or assume) that he's looking for friends with benefits and I'm NOT into that at all, since I'm single and loving it (my partner passed away on Christmas Day of 2010, but I've moved on since then). Can somebody please help me? Thank you very much.

If he's with someone else, then I would recommend just staying away. Also if he were interested in you, who's to say he wouldn't cheat?
