I have already deleted some, but once I publish it, are my past posts permanent or can I still delete them?

Yes, they can be deleted.

You can delete them. You couldve saw for yourself. just go to the post u want to delkete and click the x near it

yes, you can still change anything after you publish the timeline - it doesnt make anything permanent

Yes, in fact the Timeline comes with a feature called the Activity Log, that makes it easier than ever to delete your past posts and statuses. Facebook launched a video to present it and to show how to use it. You can see it here:
