See the thing is, I just recently made a twitter, and I set the settings so my tweets would be private. Well, I have a few followers, and I looked at their profile page and saw that they tweeted me. I had no clue that they did because it never showed up on my profile. I thought that on twitter if someone writes the @ symbol before your username at the beginning of their tweet, the receipient would also get the message.
For some reason I'm not getting the messages, so I have no clue if people are talking to me or not. And they are typing in the right username because when I click it, I am directed back to my profile page. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it because of my settings? Do I have to take off the privacy setting to read tweets sent to me? That still sounds wrong though, because I've seen people have conversations where one person's tweets are blocked. I'm so confused! I just want to be able to read tweets sent to me instead of having to search for them...

i think you have the settings set wrong, go back in there and check to be sure you do not have it privacy set to not receive tweets from your followers
