no i did that all the time when i had a facebook.

They know whether u've viewed their posts although they know that the post is on your feed . The post being on your feed doesnt tell them that u've seen their post .u might be off facebook or in an app or games , timeline . Some posts like tags are quite seen either by phone sms or email . But the poster doesnt know anything after the post
