I don't think it's happened to me but there are people claiming that it's happened to them, is it true?

No all my private messages haven't, my friends haven't and well it's not on the news either so I don't think so

I've heard that it happened but luckily it hasn't happened to me.

Yes, it is true. Facebook is not being truthful about the issue. One of my sister's private arguments with her boyfriend was on there and that was from a private message. I've been looking all week as well and dozens of people said it's happening to them. I deactivated my FB immediately after hearing the news (I've got private stuff on there). So yes, it is happening to some people despite what Facebook is claiming.
