A sponsered ad saying my friend liked a company came up on my newsfeed. Does this mean they liked the ad, the company, or they had previously liked the company and an ad automaticly came up?

It means they had previously liked the ad or the company or the page and it will automatically come up as a sponsored ad in your news-feed.
