how do i direct message someone on twitter?
i don't understand the site @ all do i have to be on someones followers or following to direct message them?

To direct a message to somebody on Twitter, simply insert '@username' before the message.
For example, I'm messaging a guy who's Twitter username is dave234, I would write the following:
"@dave234 hey dave, how's it going?".

i can't type what username i want, do i have 2 be on someones followers or following, i want direct message babygirlparis but i an't on her followers so i can't message her, i am only on her following, this twitter stuff is so confusing me
