I only want to receive a device update from Twitter if it is directed @Me. How do I make that happen through settings?

Go to http://search.twitter.com and do a search for your @username. On the results page, get the RSS feed of those results.
Go to http://feedburner.com and "burn" the RSS feed of that @username results. Enable email updates through Feedburner. You will get emailed the results.
Optionally, you can enter the email address of your cellphone and you will get the updates (1234567890@vcast.net)
