It was working like 2 seconds ago, like the normal newsfeed with actual people posting on. I went on someones profile, clicked back on the homepage, and now my newsfeed is only showing updates by groups I have joined, nothing by actual people?

The most likely reason is that Facebook is experiencing technical difficulties/ glitches and should be up and running shortly. Log out and wait a while before logging back in.
