When you deactivate your facebook, no one will able to add you as a friend, and no one will able to see your profile. They will unable to chat with you. When someone reads your messages. The name will be in black no pic, and they won't able to message you, unless they type in your email when they hit send new message. There will still be a box that says write a reply, but once you hit enter you will get an error. I've deactivated my profile before. I still got a few notifications, but not much
