Yes they are safe. They are through a trusted Facebook partner, Zynga is a trusted company. They don't install into your computer, just to your Facebook. Over the internet. It is 100% SAFE, don't worry about that!

Facebook apps are generally safe, however, do not give any personal information that you may not want to share publicly. This goes for everything when using Facebook.
