Is it possible to click on someones profile(preferably a friend) and see of what groups he is a member? Just cannot find my head in this new layout -.-

yes, it's under "About"
but some people have that information hidden, and some groups are automatically hidden because they are private groups

yes its under the about me section if its not in there than the friend has restricted it by default
