if i get my samsung galaxy s III, will it show up if i use the facebook, twitter, or instagram apps? i have at&t and my mom can't know i have an account on any of these. so i was wondering if their usage would show up on my bill

If you use any App that accesses the Internet, then your ISP (if you are using WiFi) or your Cell phone network will know how much data you are using, and which sites you are accessing. If you are billed by the Megabyte, then your Mom might see that you have been using a large amount of data. She should not be able to tell which sites you have accessed unless she gets a look at your phone.

Having said that, the social network sites you mention use relatively little data compared with streaming a movie. I use about 6 or 7 times more data streaming movies than I do with all my other Internet activity.

If you are billed as a fixed charge per month for a certain amount of data, provided you don't go over that data limit, there should be very little to alert your Mom about your social network activities.
