Facebook Privacy I need help? - Sharon - 11-09-2012 10:43 AM

I had my privacy set to "friends only" but I've discovered you can see my facebook if you join a city network that I've joined...is that true?

nop

that only happens if you didnt do anything to your facebook privacy, but since you set it to "friends only"... only friends can see

yes, but you need to make sure all your settings are at "Only Friends"
because if some are at only friends and some are My Networks and Friends, people can still see it.

also, you can activate your limited profile so your network can see what you want them to see on your profile

One of your Settings must be set to "My Network and Friends", instead of "Friends Only". That's the only time they can be visible to whatever Networks you are a member of, in addition to your friends. Also, make sure your Application Settings (which can be accessed by clicking 'Edit' that's located in the right-hand area of your Facebook 'Home' screen), are set to the right level ('Friends Only').

On your Profile page, click 'Settings' in the upper-right of your screen. To the right of 'Privacy' click the link 'Manage'.

- Click 'Profile', and if you want everything in your Profile to be visible to just your Friends, then select 'Friends Only' from the Drop-Dow Menus. Go through each item presented here, and make sure it's set to 'Friends Only'.

- Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the screen.

***Note: At the top of this page you'll see a text box with the name 'See how a friend sees your profile:". Type in the name of one of the friends on your list, and you can browse parts of your profile, and see how they would view your profile. This is a good way for you to confirm that your Security Viewing settings for your profile are just the way you want it, and that your profile is private the way you want it.

Hope that helps.
