How do I get rid of app ads on Facebook? - Dewey D - 11-09-2012 10:45 AM

When I look at my notifications on the lower right hand corner of the facebook, sometimes there will be a red notification sign. When I click it, there will be nothing there but an add for a dating thing that hooks you up with strangers. I don't want that anymore, why am I getting it and how can I get rid of it?

The easiest thing to do would probably be just to hide it. As you hover over the notification, you should see a small "×" to the right side. Click it, and it'll give the option to hide further notifications of it, or mark it as spam.

You can also go to your applications panel (click Applications on the left side of the bar and click See All) to remove it if you have it installed.

If you look down at the lower left hand corner you will see something called 'applications'. Click on and and then look for where it says 'edit applications'. Click on that and then from there you can delete or hide the applications you have added. I'm not 100% but if you click on the x it should delete it from your profile. Hope this helps.
