Hello Michaela,
As Joel Comm stated in his new book Twitter Power: How to Dominate Your Market One Tweet at a Time, stated that "Your username might be the first thing you enter, but it should be an item you think about deeply."
You'll want to chose a Twitter Username that is closely associated with what you're trying to accomplish.
For example, if you were a personal trainer, you'd choose a name such as FitnessCoach.
You also want to make sure that the username you chose is easy to remember.
Chapter 3 of Twitter Power will walk you through on how to select your username.
I really enjoyed Twitter Power and could go on and on, but I highly suggest that you at least go and read the reviews and the overview...
