I joined a (news) facebook group and decided to remove myself from it after a couple of weeks because there were so many messages. I've removed myself and even sent a email to the group moderator but I'm still getting news updates. How do I get rid of them? I don't want to cancel my Facebook account! Thanks!

Try hiding the updates from your homepage. You shouldn't see any more updates from them.
