My mom said FaceBook Timeline is just too show everything you do online, is this true? Does it show things you did on another browser or when you're not logged into FaceBook?

not everything you do online... everything you do on facebook (only)
but you can still hide individual items in your timeline, and delete them if you want

No, only what you do on facebook. You can change your privacy settings. I would play around with all the privacy settings because you can do a general one from the drop down arrow at the top, but you can also hide individual stories on your actual profile page by going to that actual post and changing it. So it's a lot to keep up with, but I just add certain "friends" to lists, and hide that list from particular posts. Like people I work with. Take time to play around with it, all your business does not have to be out there. Mine sure isn't. Good luck!
