it's very possible. simply find people w/ similar interests in groups that interest you.

Don't get me wrong here, I have plenty of "friends" on Facebook. But getting new friends comes from turning of the computer and leaving the house. If you have a friend request or two when you come home, then alls the better.

Sure and in that matter - internet can make miracles, you just have to have guts to meet persons in real life if you want to let things evolve more than on internet level.
