Facebook Status Privacy issues? - SnakeArm - 11-09-2012 11:14 AM

in facebook, my privacy options for status updates are "everyone". as you may know, when you make a new status, there is a small lock symbol. if you click on it, you have the option to change who can see it. when i make a status it is automatically set to "friends only" and i cannot change it to everyone. all of my statuses in the past were set to everyone, but now it is not letting me. how can i fix this?

Try going to Account>Privacy settings>Customize settings then change the settings for ''Posts by Me'' and select 'Everyone' instead of 'Friends only'

Hope this helps! Smile

Facebook has set special privacy settings that are required for minors. So maybe if you are younger than 18, you can't cause of those special rules.

You should have the options of status privacy during status posting. You can also check your privacy settings. Follow the steps -

- Log in to your Facebook
- Click Account -> Privacy Settings
- At the very first option "Things I share" -> Post by Me section , check the settings. By default it is set to every one.
- There are also others options like " Friends of Friends" , "Friends Only" , " Customize" etc.
- Select the option best suit you.

If there no such options for you to set, may be Facebook has implied some rules for your account for various reasons. May be for age, locations, abusive activities, spamming etc.
