i've seen ads for programs or apps you can install that claim.. that they can show you who has been looking at your facebook info, but they were all just spams to get me to some sight to sell me something.
is there anything like that that actually works?

No, Facebook does not provide this type of information to any app.
It there is an app that claims being able to do that, this is a lie.

Facebook doesn't allow people to track who views their profiles or contents. Third party applications are also are unable to track anybody.
