even if im not directly linked to them? and does this mean only my friends and their friends can see? not my network?

Yes it means that your friends and their friends can see you. Your network can only see you if you set it to your network. If you only want your friends to see you then choose that.

i didnt even know this existed.....it's new....i just went and checked now

Yes, this option does allow all of your friend's friends to view your profile even if you're not directly linked to them. As far as your network goes, it all depends how you have set up your privacy settings.

If you have set it to where all of your friends and networks can view your profile, then yes, your networks will also be able to see your profile.

But if you have set it to where only your friends can view your profile, then no, your networks will not be able to view your page.
