I want the people who follow me to be people I know. A lot of people in my school have twitter. I don't want hacker strangers to follow me. So any tips? Menchies, my friend and one of the most popular girls in my grade(who is also a close friend) follows me. Any tips to get more followers?

If you have a facebook, tell them to follow you.

Follow random people but if you do not want that than wait for someone to follow you.
I use twitter a lot. Follow me and I will follow you back.
Majority of twitter accounts are not who you think they are in the pic. So be strict about who to follow and "try before you buy". Meaning that find out if that person you following or going to follow is not a fake, attention whore, or a copycat. Also, there are those who follows back and those who don't bother clicking their FOLLOW button back. YOUR goal is to get as much follow backs as possible.
