I have an account on Tumblr and Twitter called Classic Comments that's about classic literature. I want to reach a very specified group of people, but I don't have any followers. How can I get other lit nerds to see my account so that I can get more followers?

Your medium is the problem.
Few people who like classic literature are ever going to give a rat's ass about any Twitter feed. I don't see the same people saying to themselves "Gee let's go search out someone who gives sound bites about whichever classic book she's reading" when they could be actually reading a well crafted novel.
You can put the word nerd after anything, but that doesn't mean that the people are identical with all other nerds.

You can get twitter follower on various ways. You can get by following people there and then you will get follow back whom you are following. There you also need to follow them who are following you otherwise you can lose followers day by day.
You can get follow back by posting good tweet to attract people there. If you post good tweet or if you share good message on twitter, this will attract people. They will see your profile and will also follow you.
Another way there are lot of sites who are giving free followers. Some of them are exchange site. If you follow someone they will give you points or credit and you can use this points or credit to buy or to get followers there.
