Adblock plus is an extension for Firefox and Chrome that will eliminate most, though not all, ads from websites. Free from http://adblockplus.org A similar (free) product for Safari is available here: http://safariadblock.com If you're using Internet Explorer, it's a bit trickier. To use IE's native adblocking ability, try this trick here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18156398b There's also a free add-on called IE7Pro that has an ad blocker, among other bells and whistles. Several of my office mates use it, but I haven't played with it myself. Finally, there's an IE plugin called Simple Adblock (http://simple-adblock.com) that costs $30 if you want it to block more than a couple of hundred requests a day. Hope this helps! |
