Is there a way to stop certain facebook friends from seeing a post I put up?

When you go to post a status, Photo etc. there will be a little gear icon, If you select that you can choose to make that post private from certain people

if you post regularly for some people, you just create a Friends group... and post with that group...

there is a globe with an arrow down near the post |O|v| click the arrow and choose custom and customize it
