It's like they wanted to spy on me (and see who are my friends), and don't want to see me theirs...

No it just that some people want to keep it private like me .. i dont think that the reason has to do with u.
You can do the same thing and your friend list wil be private

How To Hide Facebook Friends List From Others:
At first log in Facebook.
Go to your profile page to see friends list.
You’ll see friends chart
Click the privacy drop down menu & select Only Me
Save Changes
From now on your friends will not be able to see friends list. It will be visible to you only.
