my timeline isn't private, so anyone who isn't my friend can view my timeline the same as my friends. how do I change this so not everyone can view my timeline?

Next to home, there is a little white arrow pointing down.
Click it.
Then click privacy settings
Then there will be three options. Friends of friends, friends, and custom.
Checking friends will make it so only friends can see your stuff
custom will make it so you can change who see's it and who doesn't.
click on whichever one you want and if you choose custom, a box will pop up that you can edit who see's your stuff.
That will do it

facebook privacy helps you to manage your accounts. you wanna share your things to public(everyone) according to your question. so change your privacy to public. Good luck!
