How to protect my privacy making a facebook? - smallgoose633 - 11-09-2012 11:45 AM

Any tips?
I'm new to facebook. My friend got me interested.
What can I do to make it difficult for people to search for me via google?

I notice when I type someone first and last name it goes to there facebook page, How do i avoid being so public?

there are privacy settings, and they genuinely make a difference, but the only way to truly protect your privacy is by not making a facebook.

To protect your privacy on facebook:

click "Account" (upper right corner)

click "Account Settings" (second one down)

there you can change your privacy setting by clicking on "Manage" which is written on the right of the heading "Privacy" (which is the 6th one down)

-Hope that helped, I tried to make it as easy as I possibly could
