You can get hundreds of followers. But no use if it doesn't serve a purpose.

To gain more followers be active all the time so that many people can notice you. Post tweets which is something unique and fresh. I found here a very reliable service online that helps people promote their twitter account to a vast audience, here is the site. Don't get intimated about this website since they are 100% legit.
