My friend kinda wants to add her ex back on Facebook who she hasn't seen in a year, Her ex keeps in touch with her once in awhile. I don't know what advice to give her because I never dated before.

Just let her add him, these days you add people who you only have seen once. It might be a signal for him but it doesnt have to mean anything.
