I don't want certain people to find me on facebook, i have my real name on it but want to make it even more hard for some people to find me. I have only family and a few friends there and don't wish for others to find me. now that I have who i want on there can i put a fake name..? would this be weird?

Yeah you can defenitely put your fake name. but remember that all of your facebook friend knows your fake name. Otherwise they will be in confuse whether your fake name is you or some other.

you can try, but facebook will lock your account if you arent honest about your name
instead, just make your profile unsearchable as shown here

Why not just set your profile to private, then only people you invite can access your page?
