i think you can only make it private or not.
Just tell your friends if their friends is looking for your account, to give them the name

When in doubt, you can always just make another facebook account, don't friend yourself, search and see if you come up.
that is, assuming you don't have a particularly common name. this tactic works better for a Shanandra Missiboo than a Jane Smith.
