How long does it take for Facebook privacy settings to take effect? - CJ - 11-09-2012 12:11 PM
I edited my settings so that certain friends can't see parts of my profile. But when I view my profile from their point of view (using the "view as" mode), it looks like they can still see the sections that I'm trying to make private and block from them. Does it take a while for these preferences to take effect?

It took me between 2-5 days. Not bad.

no, it takes effect right away!

I would think it should take effect immediately as soon as u change them... so you used the "view as" mode and the privacy settings havent changed yet ............maybe do a "test" post and see what happens then? im not totally sure.......but worth a try......maybe someone has a better answer for you! I don't know for a fact, but I'm 99.9% sure that it takes effect a second later. Not longer than a few minutes.

When you change the privacy settings so it will take affect when you click on the button save settings.
