I just want to know if they will be notified I've made this change. I understand it will then send me notification when they post on their timeline etc. I just want to know if they will know I've added them to the "CLOSE FRIENDS" category - i.e. I don't want this person notified that I'm receiving notifications of their updates - which i am already able to see by accessing their profile/timeline.

Nope, I've added five friends to my close friends list so far and neither of them knew about it XD
