Why Am I Seeing Inapropriate Ad's on Facebook, Youtube, and other common sites? - Chady - 11-09-2012 12:21 PM

I keep seeing ads on my Facebook, Youtube, and other sites, that advertise "Facebook of Sex". I have little kids who use this computer and i dont want them seeing it. Is this a virus or something? Ive never seen it until like, a week ago and ive scanned my computer for spyware and viruses, and cleared alot of stuff, and it still shows up. Is it a virus or are those sites being payed to someone place those Ads? Let me know if you have seen them and/or how to prevent it.
These are not POP-UP adds. The just ads that u normally see around the site.

That doesn't seem normal. I have never seen an advertisement like that on facebook or youtube. One thing you could try is to go to your web browsers tools, internet options, and delete cookies. Maybe there are tracking cookies or something on your computer making these ads appear.

It's not a virus. That's just how the World Wide Web is. I see that `Facebook of Sex` advertisement that you're talking about here on Yahoo! Answers sometimes.

And yes, those sites are being paid to have those advertisements placed there.

For me, I think it's probably because I visit quite a few piracy-related forums. They assume pirates and amoral people such as myself are more likely to visit those sites, I suppose.

You could always use a pop-up blocker if you don't want your children to see those advertisements.
