I just joined Twitter for the sole purpose of keeping up with Nine Inch Nails releasing new info in regards to their final show tomorrow. Will I receive them like text messages (yes, I have an Internet connection on my phone)? Or am I supposed to check my email? Or both? Help!

You will not receive email from alerts. You will have to make sure you are following NIN via the twitter.com site. If you would like a twitter client for your desktop pc, I highly recommend TweetDeck, it is a free application and allows you to operate twitter without have to go to the website. I love it!
