Random question: I'm sitting here, looking at all the ads that facebook places on the side of our screens, and was just wondering if we, the general public, should start charging business owners who befriend you ONLY with the intention to place their ads on your wall?

I mean, they don't even take the time to get to know you, or better yet, for you to get to know them and all of a sudden, POW! You are bombarded with ads about their services, product, etc...

Now, FB makes billions with their ads, maybe this is something for us to make money as well?

I don't know. What are your thoughts? I was just wondering
I don't send these requests. Pls re-read the question again. This is sent by accounts who look like regular people. And to answer your question reg why do I accept them? 1) because I can; 2) I like making friends

What I don't like is what I am seeing

I honestly didn't know what you were talking about. I use Firefox with the AdBlock option installed and I don't see ads on Facebook. I just opened Internet Explorer and logged in to FB and was astonished to see those ads there over on the right of my screen. In my regular browser, that area's just plain white. So the obvious answer to getting rid of those ads would be to stop using IE.

But from your question, it sounds like you're talking about businesses that you have friended, am I correct? If so, why don't you just unfriend them? Why would you accept a friend request from a business, anyway?
