I mean.. I dont want some of my facebook friends to see all the other facebook friends I have..so is there a way to take away the friends list on the left side of the page?

Unfortunately, since the privacy changes in December 2009, Facebook users cannot hide their "list of friends" from people in it. Users that had their list hidden were automatically forced to reveal it without their consent.
This was very controversial, and many people left Facebook because of this reason.
