I don't have the timeline I have the original layout which I like, but I was wondering if I will have to one day get the timeline.

well i don't have
the Timeline eiether
but i've been seeing users
say March 30th is everybody
will have it..i have the Introducing Timeline
on my page but i rather just wait
for it to do itself

BTW You can view all personal timeline pages in the old style profile page format, if you follow this simple guide:

Although this kind of changes have never been optional, until this moment Facebook did not inform about any established date for the Timeline upgrade to be mandatory for all users.
