Facebook privacy question? - melissa - 11-09-2012 12:56 PM

My Facebook profile is all set on private. Obviously not..how come people are able to send me messages even though their not my friend?
I've already checked my privacy, account and everything settings and changed it all to just friends but yeah..can someone please explain to me why..?
I don't even have my cellphone number on my Facebook account because I don't want random people to text me.

Go to each of these in order
Privacy settings
connecting on Facebook
Send you messages
Then you'll have 3 choices
1everyone
2friends of friends
3friends only
Obviously choose friends only

Login to your account and click on Accounts on top right ---> Now click on Privacy setting -- > A window will open -- > Now see the First line Connection on Facebook -- > Click on View Settings -- > Checkout the 3rd Option SEND YOU A MESSAGE make that to friends only.

Now no one can message you except your friends.

Hope that helps.

Go to Account>Privacy Settings>View Settings (At the top of the page)

Where it says "Send you messages" change it to "Friends only". That way, no none friends will be able to send you messages.

I hope this helps.
