I'm just curious. Random people I've never heard of (and with whom I share no mutual friends) send me friend requests on facebook... which I ignore. I'm guessing they wanted to have a higher number of friends - but I don't know why that matters! Is there some sort of contest, or special feature that gets unlocked with more friends? Or is it just a "Hey, I have TONS of friends" type thing?

some people make a contest out of it
but my cousin beats all people i know if you rember blake lewis from american idol thats my cousins name so he has like over 2 thousand friends

I don't care... and facebook for me is a big thing because this is where i put my personal infos which is only my friends who can only view

Well some people think its cool adding random people that ask them to add them, when they know that they can see alot of there pics. some people are weird, mostly the popular kids do that because they think thats cool

I DO have to agree with the person who said vain tools lmao.... rememebr when people on Myspace were doing he same thing?? lmao.... I only have 76 peeps so I must be pond scum
lol.... welll yeah i must be because I actually know all those people ..... it is fun for me because i have friends from all over the country, my dad was army, my ex husb is army and alot of friends from 5th or 6th grade up to HS on there....I am open to new people befriending if they wanna talk but not just t add for the sake of sport or to be seen

They probably need some alliance members in Marfia Wars or War Machine they are playing on face book, and they tried to recruit some new friends. That's why you have never heard of their name. They also don't need to know you very well, they just want you to join their games. Once you have accepted their friend requests, they will send you Marfia War member request or other requests in short time again and again.
