Hate the fb timeline, but if I have to have it I want to add events. Can't figure out how though.

It can be done right just from the home page. Just click on the EVENTS tab. Once you are there, on the upper right hand side corner you will see "Create Event" and presto! You are ready to create your event.

To create an event:
Go to the Events tab on the left side of your home page
Click Create Event in the upper-right corner of the page.
From here, you can customize the event, edit its privacy settings and invite guests. Please note that you must include an event name and time.

Simply after creating n event you can feature it and show up in timeline as be default it will already been seen there.

*) Pick the type of story you want to add (ex: Photo, Life Event)
*) Add any details you want to add
*) Use the menu at the bottom of the box to:
Tag friends
Pick a date for the story
Add a location
*) Select an audience for your post. (Note: By default, life events start off as public)
*) From anywhere on your timeline: Scroll to a spot on your timeline and click to post a story to a specific date.
